hi from sunny Camp Everton CCJ10 on July 27/10
We have a great group of kids and leaders here who are having a lot of fun!
We had a great opening Sunday night with a Chinese Dragon dance.  We had a Native Indian blessing too.
Monday was our outtrip to Bingemans [home to Kitchener!] where we had a hoot at the waterpark especially on the waterslides where Akela raced the kids and usually lost!   We also enjoyed the glow in the dark mini golf , high ropes course and the climbing wall along with the indoor play area.  After lunch we back to the slides and the wave pool .  What a great day!
Boy we were tired  the day after the waterpark and we had to wake the boys up by wiggling their feet!
Today was our first day of program .  We did purple and tawny star activities such as tin lanterns,  fire lighting, aboriginal talk and craft, and the best part–pool!
It is hot but we are making sure that everyone is drinking lots and puts on their sunscreen.
We have the ‘cub of the day’  .  You can win a prize by doing your best, doing a good turn or generally being cheerful and kind.
So far, Lucas , Evan and Emmalea have won but we have 7 days and 7 cubs so…
The food has been quite good with 2  choices at supper and breakfast and 5 BBQ choices at lunch.  And yes, we are making everyone eats veggies!
Last evening’s program was Birds of Prey which was excellent.
Tonight it is Snakes so that is why I am in here blogging!
We just did some badge trading which was fun for Josh  and it was the 1st time for Cranson and Evan.
We are camped with 32nd Kitchener and near the Windsor group.  There is someone here from Tunisia and from Nova Scotia.
We are making lots of new friends.
All for now

5th Aurora continued

Jacob loved paper making, it just made his day.  He made extra for Bagheera, and Ryan made one for Nicholas.  Next we went to EMS, and had lessons on the trauma kit, AED (no Kyle you can’t try it on the leaders!) Jordan wanted to be strapped down, but Akela wanted the cubs to carry her around on the field.  It was a no go, and Jordon won, and we finally had him immobilized.  Conrad eagerly opted to be tied up too.  Andrew, Ryan, Jacob, and Kyle asked to be strapped down and then spun upside down.  Davis wanted to be hostaged and rotated (we had him mom!)  Julian loved being spun onthe spinal board.  Steve also did a 360 (he says the scoop method pinches, but it was soooo fun).

Sandy was eager to go back crayfishing, so as they came off the backboard, all the hot youth (Kyle, Jacob, Conrad, Julian, Mitchel, and Sandy ) headed off to cool in the water, catch minnows, and Sandy got a 5′” crayfish.  The ones that stayed had their pupils checked and then went through the EMS pockets for gadgets.

Dinner was wonderful, and then the snake presentations gave us all the slimy willies.
Andrew traded a whole lot  of  badges (so did Sandy), and everyone who started with 6 now has at least doubled that number.

EVERYONE REALLY MISSES THEIR PARENTS (sorry, NOT:)) Ha Ha, we love you, but are having too much fun, and we may never leave.  Tomorrow we have 100 activities to choose from for the 100th anniversary. Bye for now

Hi Mom: it has been really fun. The archery was nice. We also shot rockets way up into the air, but some of them got busted. We played a survivor game today. At the pool we played war and it was nice , but I got hit in the face. We also played a game and there were all these sponges and we were hitting each other with them.Instead of hitting in the bucket we decided to hit the leaders.
